Salah satu keputusan Konferensi Majelis Pengajaran Muhammadiyah yang diadakan di Pekalongan adalah mendirikan Fakultas Hukum dan Falsafah di Padang Panjang-Sumbar, yang secara resmi dibuka pada tanggal 3 Rabi,ul akhir 1375 H, bertepatan dengan tanggal 18 Nopember 1955.
Pada saat ini terkumpul kegiatan perkuliahan yang meliputi : Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Fakultas Hukum, Fakultas Ekonomi, Fakultas Pertanian, Fakultas Agama Islam, Fakultas Kedokteran dan Kesehatan dan Program Pascasarjana (Magister Ilmu Hukum, Magister Studi Islam, Magister Manajemen, Magister Ilmu Administrasi dan Magister Akuntansi).

The Islamic University of Science and Technology was promulgated by an Act of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislative Assembly in November 2005. The Chancellor of the university is the Chief Minister, ex officio, of the State, and its Board is the Board of Directors of the J&K Muslim Wakf Board. The Executive Council, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, is the executive authority of the university.

Universitas Islam Indonesia (Islamic University of Indonesia) is located in Yogyakarta - one of the most wonderful cities in Indonesia. Despite their conversion to Islam, the people of Yogyakarta maintain a strong link with the Hindu past that persistently characterizes much of the culture throughout many parts of Asia. This is evident in local theatrical tradition as well as in the behavior and politeness of locals. Some of the most spectacular sights in all Asia are located in a several-kilometer-radius around Yogyakarta. Countless masterpieces of Asian architecture can be found, both natural and manmade, including the Buddhist temple of Borobudur and the Hindu temple of Prambanan.
