Universitas Negeri Jakarta (the State University of Jakarta; henceforth UNJ for short) is the only state university located in Jakarta, the capital city of Indoensia. It has over 14,000 students from all over the country and a number of exchange students from Korea and Malaysia. This umber is growing, in line with the development and expansion of the university's facilities and services. There currently 860 academic staff, among them 100 full professors, 80 PhDs and several hundred Master degree holders from prominent local and overseas universities.
Converted from the Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP) by Presidential Decree No.93, August 4,1999, UNJ has widened its focus not only to the training of professionals in education, but also to those in The non-educational fields of science, technology, arts and culture at all levels. In fact, during the 36 years of its existence as a teacher training institute, it has produced over 45.000 graduates who work all over the country, not only as teachers and educators, but also as well-received professional in non-educational fields.
UNJ is committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship, while aiming at a more ambitious goal to become a leader in higher educationin the year 2020.

Salah satu keputusan Konferensi Majelis Pengajaran Muhammadiyah yang diadakan di Pekalongan adalah mendirikan Fakultas Hukum dan Falsafah di Padang Panjang-Sumbar, yang secara resmi dibuka pada tanggal 3 Rabi,ul akhir 1375 H, bertepatan dengan tanggal 18 Nopember 1955.
Pada saat ini terkumpul kegiatan perkuliahan yang meliputi : Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Fakultas Hukum, Fakultas Ekonomi, Fakultas Pertanian, Fakultas Agama Islam, Fakultas Kedokteran dan Kesehatan dan Program Pascasarjana (Magister Ilmu Hukum, Magister Studi Islam, Magister Manajemen, Magister Ilmu Administrasi dan Magister Akuntansi).

Indonesia is continually facing the wave of computerization, this happened to be the answer of a question about the needs of computer education for the nation. Hence, in August 7th 1981 a computer education program was launched by the name of Computer Science Education Program. This program provides not only a course deals with computer utilization but also a high education institution that deepen the knowledge of computer science.
The proof showed an improvement, thus, a foundation of Mathematics Research Operation and System Analyst Development was formed to accommodate Computer Science Education Program that later turned out to be Indonesia Computer Science Academy.
The road to perfection hadn’t stopped yet; the academy was raising level to a High School. For the intention, the school must have the same name as the Foundation’s that runs it.

Gadjah Mada University, which has taken on a new status as a state-owned legal entity since December 26, 2000, is the oldest and largest university in Indonesia. It was founded on December 9, 1949 and currently has 18 faculties, 71 undergraduate study programs, 28 diploma study programs and a Graduate Program of 62 study programs with around 55,000 students, 350 foreign students, 2,301 employees, and 2,266 lecturers. Up until October 2003, the University has graduated 134,219 students consisting of 17,358 diploma holders, 94,923 first degree holders, 21,406 masters and 532 PhD holders.
