As a university, Sanata Dharma has been challenged to broaden its study programs. While maintaining Teacher Training Programs in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, the university opened new faculties. Currently Sanata Dharma runs 8 faculties with 25 undergraduate study programs, 3 graduate programs, and 1 professional education program, and 3 certified courses. Since then, Sanata Dharma has experienced a lot of progress and development, such as the construction of physical facilities (buildings, laboratories, libraries, and a student center), the upgrading of administration (information system, management, and their supporting units, such as bureaus, centers, or institutions), and the improvement the academic quality, research, instruction, and social service to the community.

In its age more than 30 years, UNS-SOLO has been developing into o ne of the universities, which is nominated in Indonesia. UNS alumni have been widely accepted in the work market all over Indonesia, and have been taking a lot of important positions in community. In research area, the achievement in grant competition also improves. The cooperation networks of UNS-SOlO with some domestic as well as overseas institutions have also improved and given significant results.
